Last weekend I took some time to work on part of my Steampunk costume for the upcoming Time Travelers' Marketplace & Ball happening in Hillsboro, October 9th. I will be vending at the Marketplace - all kinds of fun vintage clothes, accessories, books and just a great selection of stuff! So, I will need one costume for daytime, when I'll be moving around, setting up and helping customers and another for the evening Ball. I decided rather than start from scratch with fabric and patterns, I would do a bit of creative upcycling to come up with my costumes. The white skirt was shortended and will be worn under a black velvet dress. The vest is going to be refashioned into a corset - that I am still working on but I think it is going to be really cool. More pictures coming soon, but I don't want to reveal the outfits until the day of the event so you will just get more sneak peeks until then.
